Training Introduction

As a business owner, working within food environment or being food handler, you have a duty to comply with the provisions of Regulation (EC) 852/2004 of the European Parliament on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs, the Food Safety Act 1990, and Food Safety & Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013. This requires ensuring that food handlers are supervised, instructed and trained in food hygiene and food safety in a way that is appropriate to the work they do and enables them to handle food safely and hygienically.

Currently there are three certifications on offer. Please go through each level in order to ascertain the correct Certification required:

We at “CaterSafe” undertake following consultancy and training work on Food Safety matters.

  • CIEH accredited training courses Level 1, 2 & level 3 (Intermediate level: 2 days)
  • Fire Safety training course (1 day)
  • BIIAB (alcohol licence certificate course (1 day).
  • Food safety and hygiene audits of Food premises (retail/high-street outlets & Food manufacturing/distribution business.
  • Site inspection, auditing and assessment with full “H&S” audit report and recommendations
  • Health and Safety Risk Assessment for new and “start up” business as well as “pre-opening” H&S audits/assessment.
  • Complete Food Safety Management Statement (FSMS), reference regulation (EC) No. 852/2004.
  • HACCP training, planning , implementation and day to day management (ref: Defence of Due Diligence).

(Level 1)

The CIEH food hygiene level 1 course is a self-study module which introduces learners to the basics of food hygiene and understand workplace procedures to ensure food safety. This course has been develop to introduce beginners to the food industry in a way that is easy to understand and train. 

Who is this course for?

Beginners looking to work in hotels, cafes, bars, restaurants, kitchens, fast food outlets, and catering in hospitals or schools.

Ideal as induction training to benefit anyone working in a situation where there is food and drink but is not involved with food preparation.

Self-study module and maps to Industry Standards in food hygiene and food safety as published by People 1st, the Sector Skills Council for the Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism industries.

Aimed at anyone working in catering or hospitality, restaurants, hotels, fast food outlets, takeaways, cafes, bars, kitchens, catering in hospitals, schools and colleges.

COURSE INFORMATION:

(2 -day course)

The CIEH Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety is designed for managers and supervisors who need a broad understanding of food safety control, and who have responsibility for developing and maintaining a food safety management system. It is recommended that all food environments should have at least one person trained to this level.

Who is this course for?

  • Anyone involved in supervising and managing others in a food environment
  • Those wishing to progress from the Foundation Certificate in Food Safety

Course overview

The course covers an in-depth understanding of how to apply and monitor good food safety practice. It also ensures that supervisors know how to implement food safety management procedures.
